Reading empowers

The National Library of South Africa’s Centre for the Book in partnership with the Western Cape Library Service and City of Cape Town is celebrating World Book Day with a door to door reading programme visiting seven primary schools where celebrations will include readings and the donation of books.

World Book Day is for people of all ages and especially school children of all ages, with the primary aim of encouraging children to explore books and the joy of reading. We encourage all South Africans to spread the love of reading with the people in your life today. Today is the perfect opportunity for parents, teachers and children to read and enjoy books.
