Dr Alma-Nalisha Cele is a medical doctor working in the pharmaceutical sector. She has a special interest in pharmaceutical economics and its relationship to the socio-economics of health, particularly in public health.
She is also the co-founder of The Cheeky Natives, a literary podcast aiming to archive black literature on the continent and in the diaspora by providing curated author launches, live podcasts and reviews. Some notable guests of the podcast include professor Kimberlé Crenshaw, Zinzi Clemmons, Zukiswa Wanner, Koleka Putuma and Lola Shoneyin.
Dr Cele was a Mandela Washington Fellow 2019 and was named as one of the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans in 2019.
